COMING OF AGE. Arte americana dal 1850 al 1950
Until October 12, 2008, in Venice at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection continues the exhibition COMING OF AGE. Arte americana dal 1850 al 1950 ("Coming of age. American Art from 1850 to 1950") which tells the story of a century of American landscape by the Hudson River School up to abstract expressionism, by the first steps to European contamination until the age of majority, "coming of age" precisely. Arranged in chronological order, beginning from 1850, approximately 70 works, including paintings and sculptures, come from the Addison Gallery of Massachusetts and arriving in Venice after being exposed to Dallas and London.
Mugello Culla del Rinascimento
From May 29 to November 30, 2008 four municipalities in the province of Florence host a travelling exhibition that under the common title of "Mugello Culla del Rinascimento" ("Mugello Cradle of the Renaissance") pays tribute to the works of Giotto, Fra Angelico and Donatello and recalls the famous Medici dynasty that ruled Tuscany for two centuries by placing at the centre of its policy the arts and sciences.
COREGGIO E L'ANTICO
